Papua New Guinea flights grounded amid FX dispute


Papua New Guinea’s airways suspended home flights on January 5 after the nation’s sole gasoline provider halted imports after a dispute with the central financial institution.

The central financial institution says the importer, Puma Vitality, has violated the phrases of its overseas alternate account and is suing it within the courts. Air Niugini, the nation’s flag provider, defined that Puma Vitality was having “points” in acquiring US {dollars} and had stopped supplying aviation gasoline.
